Is Flash Dead?

My thoughts on using flash when developing websites has always been; flash is a useful tool to enhance the look and feel of a website, but use it sparingly. Flash has always had issues that had to be considered when developing websites.

Past issues with using flash:

  1. SEO
  2. Load Time
  3. Compatibility
  4. Browser Support

Current issues with using flash:

  1. I-Phone does not support flash
  2. I-Touch and I-Pad does not support flash

Are the rumors true?

I decided to do some reading. (Articles links below)

Is flash dead in my opinion? Yes and No. Always use html and css to design your website,  a website exclusively constructed with flash is in trouble, but the use of flash to enhance a website will be with us for a while longer.

I think it’s highly recommend to add flash elements in your site.
You should be careful with the SEO part. A Flash site with no text code, which

can be crawled , means nothing to search engine.
